September is one of the best months to visit Hanoi to enjoy warm temperatures without the sweltering heat and humidity of the summer months. The cooler weather conditions and the changing of the leaves make Hanoi a very romantic destination during this time of year.

Due to the warm weather, it is comfortable enough to wear a t-shirt and shorts during the day. However, as rainfall is still considered unpredictable in September, a rain jacket and other rain gear are recommended to remain comfortable.

It is also recommended that you wear adequate sun protection—especially sunscreen—during September as the sun’s UV rays can be harsh during this time of year.

Hanoi can become overly crowded near the end of the month due to the Mid-Autumn Festival, as many families from across the country plan to visit Vietnam’s capital city to celebrate the holiday. However, this would be an excellent time to visit Hanoi to experience the colourful festival and lively culture.
